How to do you check brake pad wear on a “Brembo” style caliper? I can’t seem to get in there to get a good read.
Here’s a weird Mustang angle.

Take the wheel off and look at it from the left (in that picture) side.

I just didn't really feel like taking stuff apart but I might have to. Thanks.

You can’t read them from the inner side, of the car is lifted up? I’ve never had those style brakes, but they gotta be able to do it that way for inspection.

G
et one of those angled dental mirrors to get a look at the side of the caliper
where you can see the brake pads edge on?

I want to check them because at the last HPDE the BMW CCA guys gave me a hard time about how they couldn’t see how much pad I had left. Eventually I just showed them that it only had 8,000 miles on it and they let me through. There should be a way to do it quick.

I only do that with the beaters, the nice car needs to be good to go for track days, bro.
And yeah, that's probably the right answer but, I shouldn't have to take off the wheel to prove I have pads at the track

Extreme angle, mirror, from the inside, or with the wheel off.

With as much clearance as you have a dental mirror would work as well.

I just keep making the dealer check them and document it
when I got in for oil changes. I’m over 22 thousand now, still original pads with two seasons of autocross and a half dozen track sessions.

you should probably be swapping out track pads for the track though. and after track days be doing a brake bleed anyhow both of which require the wheels off.

This is known as a fixed caliper vs the more common sliding caliper, as others have said the way to check is remove the wheel and peer in.

I have the perfect solution!
“We’re gonna have to take the wheels off to check.”
You’re welcome to try.
“... how do I...?”
“Er, WTF?”
“Uh, do we have an inch drive adapter for the impact gun?”
It’s aluminum. Use impact and die.
“But how are you supposed to get it OFF?!”
Six foot solid steel breaker bar.
“WTF?! But how do you put it on?!”
1:4 torque multiplier rated to 750ft/lbs.
“... you know what? You’re good.”
Centerlocks! NEVER a bad idea. Until you actually have to do maintenance yourself.
